HBO has ordered a half-hour comedy sequence known as The Franchise. The movie revolves across the behind-the-scenes of a fictional struggling superhero film.

“The crew of an unloved franchise film battle for his or her place in a savage and unruly cinematic universe. The Franchise shines a light-weight on the key chaos contained in the world of superhero moviemaking, to ask the query — how precisely does the cinematic sausage get made? As a result of each fuck-up has an origin story,” reads the movie’s official description.

The sequence stars Himesh Patel, Aya Money together with Jessica Hynes, Billy Magnussen, Lolly Adefope, Darren Goldstein, Isaac Powell, Richard E Grant and Daniel Bruhl. The franchise is from Sam Mendes of Skyfall fame together with Armando Iannucci of Veep and showrunner John Brown (Success, Veep).
