Union Cupboard approves PM-JANMAN scheme for tribal welfare


The Union Cupboard has accepted the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) designed to offer help to tribal communities with a finances of 24,000 crore, union minister Anurag Singh Thakur stated.

“PM Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan goals at uplifting 75 tribal communities recognized as Significantly Susceptible Tribal Teams (PVTGs) throughout 18 states, 1 Union Territory, 220 districts, and 22,000 villages. This initiative is projected to profit roughly 28,16,000 tribal people”, Thakur stated.

India’s Scheduled Tribe (ST) inhabitants stands at 10.45 crore in line with the 2011 census, with 75 communities in 18 states and the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands categorized as PVTGs.

Through the commemoration of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas in Khunti, Jharkhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the ‘Pradhan Mantri Significantly Susceptible Tribal Teams (PM PVTG) Improvement Mission.’

The scheme goals to offer essential interventions corresponding to everlasting housing, street connectivity, piped water provide, cellular medical models, hostel development, ‘Anganwadi’ amenities, talent growth centres, electrical energy connections, photo voltaic road lighting, Bandhan Vikas Kendra, and cellular towers. Aligning present schemes like PM Awas Yojana (PMAY), Grameen Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), and the well being mission goals to embody all eligible beneficiaries.

These interventions fall below the purview of 9 key ministries liable for well being, livelihoods, tribal affairs, and telecom, amongst others.

Furthermore, ministries like Ayush and talent growth and entrepreneurship will supply extra help.
